In partnership with Connaught Care, our project embarked on an intensive journey towards achieving significant environmental & operational enhancement, crucial for supporting the elderly and individuals with special needs.

• • Energy and Water Technical Audit: Our project began with an intensive technical audit of Portsdown View Care Home’s energy and water systems in February 2024. This audit employed specialized instruments like power analysers and thermal cameras to assess the building’s insulation, heating, water, and lighting systems comprehensively. 

• • Innovative and Renewable Energy Solutions: We conducted a feasibility study on the integration of renewable energy sources such as solar PV panels and solar carports into their existing infrastructure. This study not only supported our sustainability initiatives but also highlighted areas for significant energy and water savings.

• • Detailed Energy and Water Analysis: Our analysis included extensive evaluations of:
    – Flue gas and power systems
    – Hot water circulation systems
    – Temperature set points
    – Lux metering across various facility areas
    – And several others

    These analyses helped in forming a holistic understanding of energy and water usage, pinpointing key opportunities for improvements. Lux metering across various facility areas.

• • Strategic Carbon Footprint Reduction and Net Zero Strategy: This is the next step where we will move forward by calculating the carbon footprint of the facility and start developing a meticulously planned Net Zero strategy. This project will aim to guide Portsdown View Care Home through their journey towards achieving Net Zero, in alignment with global sustainability goals.
